BROOKLYN BICYCLE CO. X THIS IS THE PLACE I WAS TELLING YOU ABOUT:
5 DATE NIGHT IDEAS IN
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN
Hey y’all! It’s R’el & Marcus, the duo over at This Is The Place I Was Telling You About. We’ve partnered up with Brooklyn Bike Co. to bring you our top 5 date night spots in the Downtown Brooklyn area. Come take a ride with us!
#1 CECCONI'S
55 WATER STREET
DUMBO
If you are trying to treat your partner to a romantic night with waterfront views then we have you covered. Cecconi’s is an upscale Italian restaurant located in Dumbo. The beautiful interiors and tasty entrees are enough to rave about. The menu includes items like handmade pasta, wood oven pizza, and several seafood options. You really can’t go wrong ordering anything from here. Side note – the whipped ricotta appetizer isn’t to be missed.
#2 THE GATEHOUSES AT KINGS COUNTY DISTILLERY
299 SANDS STREET
BROOKLYN NAVY YARD
This intimate tasting room located at the entrance of The Brooklyn Navy Yards is the perfect bar for all you whiskey lovers out there. Not only are all the spirits made in house, but their cocktails are robust and flavorful. Munch on small bites like beef jerky and almonds while conversing over an Old Fashioned or Negroni. Check out the menu here.
#3 TACOMBI
25 LAFAYETTE AVENUE
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN
Looking for a restaurant that hits the spot while also being easy on your wallet? If so, then Tacombi is the place for you. This laid-back taco spot has been a personal favorite of ours for years now. They have elote, tacos, and quesadillas. We typically order one of each taco but the shrimp and al pastor tacos are our favorite. After feasting on all that, we wash it down with a nice margarita (mezcal, of course). Yup, that’s right, the bartenders at Tacombi know how to make a pretty tasty margarita along with the other cocktails they have available.
#4 ELSA
136 ATLANTIC AVENUE
COBBLE HILL
With an inviting space and unique seasonal cocktails we can’t help but to love Elsa. Everything about this bar is, dare we say it, GOALS! The interiors are beyond stunning (think loose prohibition era vibes), the cocktails are high end with the perfect notes to complement each spirit, and the service is top notch. There’s not a bad thing to say about this bar – it’s simply spectacular. Oh, and they have the coolest bathrooms in the city (we’re not weird, you are)!
#5 AMPLE HILLS CREAMERY
623 VANDERBILT AVENUE
PROSPECT HEIGHTS
ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS IN BROOKLYN, MANHATTAN, & QUEENS
We have the perfect ending to a date night and that’s heading over to Ample Hills for some dreamy scoops of happiness. Every flavor is just as creative and delicious as the last. Park your bikes and grab a seat outside!
